yup, you better solve that issue, folks, 'cause all i do for last 6 months is switching skills. logging in is a quite a challenge, not mentioning flying or, god forbid playing!... wait a sec... isnt it what we pay you for?
godspeed on this one 'cause once my accounts expire and that problem wont be solved i'm not extending them.
cheers

Originally by: Liang Nuren Edited by: Liang Nuren on 09/04/2009 18:08:08 This happened to me last night on TQ, but the problem was almost certainly packet loss on my end because Vent also crashed. It's happened a few other times without any other noticeable problems, and it happens to a corpmate while I'm running a steady conversation on vent with him. I'm running Vista, 2 clients, Vent, and sometimes a firefox on AT&T Edge (Cellular data) service.
-Liang
Ed: It only happens to me when I try to load a lot of data (opening market or jumping into a new sytem). Maybe it's an artifact of packet loss with lots of data being suddenly thrown at the user.
same here. every time i start loading huge amounts of data got disconnected (jita market's browsering, travelling, loading pilots employment history, etc)

Originally by: Tom Peeping Less than 40 bug reports have been received with the information we have requested. Based on this and our connection graphs it is clear that this issue has affected a small number of users from different parts of the world.
LOL.... do you guys even play your own game?
The only way we have been able to do that so far is by artificially creating packet loss of 30% or higher, this would indicate an issue with the userĘs connection as opposed to our software or hardware. Some of the reports we have received however hinted at other possibilities that we want to explore fully before completely closing the door on this.
LOL... again... do you even play this game?
You might want to consider whether maybe you're not getting responses because people are so frustrated with how useless filing these bug reports has been historically. I know that I personally have found the "tech support" experience with CCP to be highly annoying. As is, there's very little communication from our perspective... and lots of annoyances like discovering that your report was simply tossed because some element was missing, and that was never communicated back to us. Worst of all... the loop is never closed. Fixed or not, there's no communication back to the bug reporter... even when it's obviously needed.
I know that I personally saw your request... that I've been having trouble with crashes and socket drops, despite a top notch connection, with monitoring tools that validate such.... basically I'm the type of person that you sent your request to.... but I simply never considered responding because of how frustrating communications with you guys are. If one gets burned you dont run to touch the stove real fast.
After all... you only got 40 bug reports... it must be a non-issue that you can just write off. Surely the large number of posts in the forums regarding these problems must be figments of the imagination... there couldn't possibly be any other reason why you get so few bug reports.... surely nothing like a system that's hard to work with and frustration with previous poor experiences re: the process
word...
i have tried to send my LOGserv. data 3 times! every time my zip/whatever files were rejected by server. then i gave up and never filled out any more bug reports about that issue. what for? just to wast some time fighting your stupid petition system? to hell with it! really.
peace.

Originally by: Dark Sin the best part is that you dont get the to see the disconnect alot of time too. if i dont try to do aything in eve it doesnt show. so i cant camp anything with out having to click and move a bit every minute to check if i am still connected.
I have 7 accounts of which some have been around since 2003 this is the worst eve has ever been for me. and stop telling me its my internet. you patched your software lately. my stuff at home hasnt been changed.. logic tells me that the errors must be at your end
word, but when you are confronted with CCCP... logic doesnt no apply. :]

Originally by: Laumer Dorsai Just wanted to toss in my two cents worth. I started playing only a week ago. About three days before the last update. Those first days I had no problems at all. However, since the update and my decision to become a paying member I have been plagued with the socket loss problem. So I followed what CCP said to do about creating a bug report with the logfile attached. Suprise suprise all I got in return is a terse reply saying that the problem was already noted. I know that nothing changed on my laptop between my trial and becoming a paying member so I guess that just leaves CCP. On the bright side being a rookie means I can squeeze in the training missions between dropouts but going out pirate hunting seems an unlikly prospect.
hmm, that would explain why CCCP is working on 'walking into stations!' feature. you will or will not, depends :] and you gonna walk around in station... you will CTD without a warning... log in in a few hours, walk a little more, drop again... etc., without a risk of losing a ship
all we'll do it's gonna be switching skills and enjoy stations.
cheers

ok, good reading mate. may i add that some of us, like myself, have this problem for over a 6 months now, ok?
so... maybe it's time to pick up the f-!@#$-ing phone, cccp and call TeleCity or some other duAAb-A55es to solve this issue, ok?
for your convenience i managed to get TeleCity number, it's :
555-we-dont-give-a-fock-LoL-Rotfl-haha ... and ask for Charlie.
i hope you gonna solve this issue soon. just in case i'm going to my accounts managers and i'm gonna cancel my subscribtion of this fail-soft-hard-ware of yours.

Originally by: Morar Santee Just thought I'd add to this.
The first time I ever got these crashes/socket closed issues was after my return to EVE roughly a month ago. Since then it happened every once in a while, sometimes one or two times a day.
But today it happened three times in fifteen minutes, so I'm really beginning to wonder what is going on there, and any solution or at least identification of the problem would be very welcome.
If it is in fact my ISP or faulty routers somewhere along the road, I'd like to at least have this confirmed so I can try to do something about it.
it's Not your fault.

ok, my last 2 cents.
it looks like this bull-soft (eve) could work pretty good (read. without loosing conn. on log on/every jump, docking, etc) on Vista/windows 7 OS. however it seems that my sound card (SB live 5.1) which is working pretty well under XP is 'too old/not good enough' for Vista and bloody creative wont make drivers for 5.1 under vista (yeah, lets force a customer to buy a new one...) ...and Eve-Online it's only type of soft that is working badly under XP on my puter so...
fock it.
fock CCCP, for their lame programming, fock MS vista and MS lame programming, fock creative for not making drivers,
as i said, fock it. gonna manage to log in somehow to switch skills and wait till my accounts expire, then i'm gonne for good.
enough of this bull-****
